Cat's Table

Dogs are far more important to this story than cats as it turns out, in case you are the sort hoping to read about cats.  Listening to this audiobook read by Michael Ondaatje himself adds to the sense that it is a memoir of the author as an eleven-year-old boy alone on a ship from Ceylon to England back in the 50s. I was intrigued by how he tells from the adult's perspective, which allows the story to expand out with insights gleaned after the experience. I am trying to remain inspired instead of intimidated by such examples of writing.
